The Individual

Each person is individually responsible for their life and growth. Although we are all part of a bigger-than-ourselves entity – society, the common good springs from each of us taking stock of the consequences of our behaviour on society at large. The group depends on the individual taking  personal responsibility for their own life.

All change begins with one thing... the individual taking responsibility for their own emotions, feelings and actions.

A frequent response to criticism from your partner or friend or boss might be to project your own perceived disfunction to the accuser.

Once the accused takes on the responsibility for the accusation.

A marker for personal responsibility is self-awareness. This in turn concerned with each of us being knowledgeable of our strengths and weaknesses. We know these aspects of our life when we are proactive in our learning. Setting goals and establishing the environment for understanding are pivotal in this area of your life.  It is an ongoing continuous project to undertake if you are going to be effective in your world.

Often this personal growth will be parallel to your career pathways. The manner in which you take ownership of these aspects of your life will dictate and benefit  your growth.

An effective tool in the personal growth/development field is to regularly take time out to reflect on your feelings and consequent actions. Humans are emotional beings. Where a cat or dog might 'reflect' on when they are going to get food, humans are eternally thinking about their life, their station, their friendships, career, sex, food and a myriad of other life considerations.

The main concerns for the human animal (and this might apply to all living or non-living entities) are to survive and thrive in order to procreate. Even the original single cell had a job and that was to survive and duplicate.

All of us are given these imperatives and our task is to fulfill this 'need' in order for our species to continue in the known universe.

When we find life outside of that on earth maybe we will take greater stock in what we hav- on-this-earth.That awareness might enable all nations on earth to unite and defend against a greater enemy.

The more we explore the universe the more there is to explore. The task you have is to explore your universe.

Contemporary life is all aobut speedily achieving your goals and making a place for yourself in the world. The advertising industry and the banks are very keen for you to get what you want NOW. This way of thinking can result in what I  call careless attainment... getting what you deserve as beauty product advertising insists on ending their call to action. No! You don't deserve a bum as gig as Kim Kardashian. She admits she plumps up her buttox with fat extracted from other ares of her body. It's an obscene concept that women should look like a pornagraphic image portrayed by advertising and encouraged by many pop stars and leadership entities.

The individual has a right to understand the pulls and pushes of the capitalist mentality that eternal-growth and bigger-is-better might not be optimal for the individual yet universal existence. Now Kim may very well have a huge bum, but to equate that with beaty and desire is a conflation way beyond decency. Millions of wannabe Kims are anxiety-driven beauty product slaves.

How not be a slave – Be An Independant

Your dream may be the same as another person's dream... however...

... make sure it really is your own concept, one that you passionately believe in. This means you must examine your motivations. What did Socrates say?  – The unexamined life is not worth living.

And Dag Hammarskjöld –

Never, for the sake of peace and quiet, deny your own experience or convictions.

He also said:

Do not seek death. Death will find you. But seek the road which makes death a fulfillment.

The longest journey is the journey inwards. Of him who has chosen his destiny, Who has started upon his quest for the source of his being.

However –

Learning how to live with all the other people in the world who have their own rights to own their beliefs and their existence in the universe is an art...  make sure you are a prime example of the fufilled person who is kind, caring, considerate and loving.
